Family Support Unit

In 2015, parent mentors worked with an average of 26 families per month, providing them with intensive services to eliminate or reduce the issues that have led to the family's involvement with the agency. Family support caseworkers supervised/monitored 1788 visits at the visitation center and completed 1626 transports. 

The Family Support Unit provides a variety of services which are voluntary and provided at no cost to the families of Athens County.

These services include:

  • Family Mentors
  • Parenting Services
  • Transportation
  • Homemakers
  • Visitation
  • Brief therapeutic interventions

 The Family Support Unit has three sub-units: visitation, parent mentors, and the  Domestic Relations Clinic.
