The Southeast Ohio Regional Training Center (SEORTC) is one of the eight Regional Training Centers in Ohio that comprise the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program (OCWTP). The OCWTP is a cooperative effort of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the Public Children Services Association of Ohio, the Institute for Human Services, and the eight Regional Training Centers. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services provide funding for the program. The Ohio Child Welfare Training Program is a comprehensive, competency-based, in-service training program that provides high quality, culturally responsive, family-centered, job related training for staff employed in public child welfare agencies and caregivers throughout Ohio.

SEORTC provides over 400 workshops a year to staff and caregivers in our 13 county region. Professionals from other social service agencies that have contact with children service agencies are allowed to attend  workshops on a space available basis.

Workshops are held at the Regional Training Center in Athens and in the county agencies. We are currently staffed with a director, a foster parent training coordinator, and an office manager/technical support specialist.
